This course aims to boost the learners’ knowledge and understanding of International Social Work, and to develop the learners´ skills and competences in evaluating and critically analysing social issues in globalized societies.

After completing this course, the student is expected to be able to:

 

1.      Describe concepts and understand theories in international social work

2.      Discuss how social work handle the challenges of globalization

3.      Describe some common social issues in Africa, Europe, Asia and America

4.      Describe social work systems around the world and analyse the impact of historical, political, economic, cultural and environmental factors inside these social systems

5.      Identify dilemmas in international social work

6.      Discuss intervention in international social work to solve problems
