The course addresses human, technical and organizational factors in a sustainable sea transport system.

During this course you will gain knowledge on how human physical and mental abilities and limitations affect safety, sustainability and overall system performance in maritime operations. Special emphasis is placed on tools and methods for analysis, evaluation and design of human–machine systems. You will further learn how to apply human factors engineering theories and methods to address a real-life problem as part of a case study, in which you get to describe, exemplify and reflect upon how human factors affect safety, performance and sustainability in maritime work environments today and in the future.
