Role and Mission
- You represent all students in your program – even those who are not members of the student union.
- Your role is to contribute to the quality development of the education by voicing the students’ opinions.
- You are a link between the students and the university, and an important part of student influence.
Function of the Program Council

- One student representative per year group is recommended.
- You are appointed by Linnékåren and usually serve for the entire duration of your program. Application forms are available on the union’s website.
Before Meetings
- Read through the agenda and meeting materials in advance.
- Consider what your fellow students think – you don’t need to know everything, but keep your ear to the ground.
- You can always contact Linnékåren or other student representatives for support.
During Meetings
- The most common question: “What do the students think?”
- It’s okay not to have all the answers – ask to follow up if you’re unsure.

After Meetings
- Please provide feedback to Linnékåren on what was discussed.
- You will receive compensation for your work – remember to report your meeting hours (see the section on Compensation above).

- You can receive a certificate for your role as a student representative. Talk to the convenor.
Rights and Responsibilities- You have the right to participate in all bodies where decisions are made concerning education or student matters.
- You should not participate in individual student or staff cases, except for the disciplinary board.
