If you are taking a course in a distance format or if you are at another geographical locality at the time of examination you can apply for permission to take the examination at an another location.

The student should apply in writing for the arrangement of an examination at another location at least ten working days prior to the examination in question. 

Guidelines for Examination at another location
A student can be permitted to do an examination at another location if there are special reasons for this and legal certainty can be guaranteed (For example, the examination can be done at a university college, university, local study centre or at an embassy). Special reasons include such things as illness or other particular grounds entailing that it is not possible to travel to the location of the examination, or if a student is in another location because it is part of the education (e.g. work placement, degree project).
 
For a distance course that has examination in a hall, you must have at least a 2-hour one-way travel time for it to be considered as a special reason.

A digital exam via Inspera can currently not be taken at another location.

What kind of places are approved as another location?
The examination can be arranged at another university college, university, municipal learning centre, etc, offering higher learning courses, or alternatively at an embassy.

How do I apply to take an exam at another location?

The student must submit a written application to take the exam at another location at least ten working days before the scheduled exam date, using the form below. If the student wants the exam to be graded anonymously, they must also register for the exam in Ladok through their student account. This will provide the student with an anonymization code, which is then written on the exam instead of their name and personal identification number. Otherwise, the application to take the exam at another location will be considered as the exam registration.

Can I take my examination at another day/time?
A written examination at another location must take place on the same date and at the same time as the examination in question. All instructions given for the examination in question shall apply.

Who is responsible for making the proper arrangements?
The student will be responsible for looking into whether there is a suitable examination room, invigilation available, as well as for any other requirements for the conduct of the examination at the location where the student wishes to sit the examination.

The seat of learning where I wish to take my examination charges an administrative fee – who should pay for this?
Examination sittings at an alternative location should not involve any additional costs for the university. All additional costs are paid for by the student.
