Information from your programme coordinator
This letter is addressed to you who have been admitted to Forestry for Green Sustainable Development, Master Programme, 120 credits. With this letter, we want to extend a warm welcome to you and provide you with some brief information ahead of the program's start.

Hello! My name is Charlotta Håkansson (link to the staff page) and I am the programme coordinator for the Forestry for Green Sustainable Development programme.

At Linnaeus University, we use the learning platform Moodle and the Forestry for Green Sustainable Development programme has a Moodle page where we communicate with our students.
Programme start
The autumn semester of 2026 begins with a program start comprising roll call, presentations, and information regarding the program and studies.
Date: 31 August 2026
Campus students:
Time: 09:15-12:00 AM
Linnaeus University, Växjö. The exact location for the program start will be disclosed at the programme page (see Programme button below in this email).
Distance students:
Time: 09:15-12:00 AM
Location: Zoom (passcode TASB2)
Preparations for the start of the semester
Late registration is not possible. If you do not register in Ladok, you will lose your admission to the programme. Registration means that you participate in the courses, and you cannot request a refund after registration.
As for equipment it is recommended that you have access to your own laptop that is no more than two years old (Windows, macOS, or Linux).
First Semester
You will be taking two half-time courses simultaneously. The courses offered in the first semester are:
- 4TS022 Forest Ecosystem Services 15 credits (Mehrdad Zarafshar) and
- 1TS613 Basic Course in Forest Management 15 credits (Charlotta Håkansson) or
- 4TS021 Forest Climate Mitigation and Adaptation 15 credits (Johan Bergh).
