Welcome to Linnaeus University 

You have applied and been accepted (provided you received a positive acceptance letter for the course) to 1TS613, Basic course in forest management (15 credits) at the Department of Forestry and Wood Technology at Linnaeus University. With this letter, we would like to warmly welcome you and give you some brief information before the start of the semester.

Introductory  meeting
A short course introduction will be given September 1st, in connection to the first lecture.

Meetings and lectures
All lectures are planned to be given in a hybrid form, with campus students on location in Växjö and distance student online on Zoom.

The two meeting weeks, September 21st-23rd and October 12th-13th will emanate from campus Växjö and include excursions, study visits as well as the obligatory field test in Forest Mensuration (October). For distance students we have reserved rooms close to campus. More information about this is available on Moodle.

Get a student account and register
You need to have a student account in order to register. At Lnu.se/new student there is information on how to do it. Registration is required in order for you to start the education for which you have been accepted.

Moodle
Moodle is the learning platform used at Linnaeus University. Here you will find the digital course room where students and teachers meet as well as much of the course material such as schedule, assignments, recorded lectures and more. You log in with your student account, see above. Here you will find more information about Moodle.

Technical equipment
You need a computer and a USB headset with a built-in microphone to participate in digital meetings and presentations. If you have technical issues, please contact the IT-support team for distance students.

Litterature
You can find the course literature list in the course/ and education plan, i.e. the course syllabus.
