Information from your programme coordinator
Hello!
My name is Carlo Canali (link to the staff page) and I am the coordinator for the Physics Master program.
At Linnaeus University, we use the learning platform Moodle. The Physics Master program also has a Moodle page where we communicate important information to our program students.
Course literature
During the first study period, you will take the courses:
- Mathematical Methods for Physics 5FY520 (link to the course page)
- Computational Physics I 2FY512 (link to the course page)
Information about distance courses
All courses in the program can be attended live online via Zoom. A link will be sent to all students later. No software installation is required.
To participate, students need:
- a computer with a stable internet connection suitable for audio and video conferencing
- a headset to ensure good sound quality
- webcam for visual communication
It is important that distance students attend the lectures live through Zoom and use a headset rather than the computer’s built‑in microphone and speakers. A headset significantly reduces echo and improves communication quality.
Important! Campus students are strongly encouraged to attend classes in person and use the online option only when absolutely necessary.
Prepare yourself
It is important to start your master’s studies well prepared. I recommend reviewing key material from your bachelor courses in mathematics and physics, especially multidimensional calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, general physics (mechanics, electromagnetism, wave phenomena), and introductory quantum mechanics.
