Student account and registration
At Linnaeus University you have to register for the different courses, throughout the programme. You will find information on how to do this at https://lnu.se/en/student/new-student/   Registration is required for you to be able to take the courses that you have been admitted to. Registration opens a week before the course starts and remains open throughout the first week of the course.

If you have registered for a course but remain inactive during the first three weeks of the course, you may be deregistered. You will not be notified about this, but you can see your registration status on the student web. If you have been deregistered but want to remain on the course, you should contact Christina Björnvall at christina.bjornvall@lnu.se . Remember to state what course you want to re-register for, and what your personal identity number or coordination number is.

For international students: scholarships, invoices, residency permits, insurance, and accommodation please email the International Office: internationalstudents@lnu.se

Information about your student account, housing, the university, and so on are sent out by the university. You can also find the information on the Linnaeus University webpage for new students: https://lnu.se/en/education/during-your-studies/ Please also look at this “Checklist for new students” for helpful information on getting started with university life: https://lnu.se/en/education/Before-your-studies/

Information regarding accommodation, for all students
We strongly encourage you to start preparing for your stay here in Kalmar and Sweden, especially the process of finding accommodation near the campus. It can be hard to get hold of a place if you leave this too late into the start of the term. The following link includes details to accommodation, obtaining residence permits, and other important information. https://lnu.se/en/student/new-student/

The best alternative is to contact the Student Union (called Linnékåren) and to read the information about how to find accommodation on their website. (See below) Please note that it is hard to find accommodation in Växjö and Kalmar you are advised to start looking for somewhere to live as early as possible to maximize the chances of finding accommodation.

Blocket: https://www.blocket.se/

The main Swedish website for posting apartment announcements. Most adverts will be in Swedish, but worth checking as a further resource with lots of postings. Note, you can also use this website to buy things like used furniture. Look in region “län” Kalmar, and select Kalmar as the city too.
