Welcome!

You have applied and been accepted (given that you got a positive admission result) to course 1TS018, Wood as an engineering materials (7.5 credits) at the Department of Forestry and Wood Technology, Faculty of Technology. You are welcome to the course.

Introductory meeting
We will start with a brief course introduction on 19 January (10:15-12:00). The whole course consists of several lectures. This course deals with some physical and mechanical properties of wood. Realization the relationship between the wood structure and behavior of wood in use is the main objective of this course.

Meetings
Laboratory work will be on 5 March (9:00-16:00) at Linnaeus University. We will have this laboratory meeting digitally. Which means that there will not be any physical meeting at LNU in order to avoid the spreading of COVID-19. 

Get a student account and register
You need a student account in order to register. At Lnu.se/nystudent you will find information on how to do it. Registration is required for you to begin the education you have been accepted for. 

MyMoodle
MyMoodle is the learning platform used at Linnaeus University. Here you will find the digital course room where students and teachers meet. You log in with your student account, see above. Here you will find an introductory film in MyMoodle

In study guide, details about the course schedule, quiz, examination, grading criteria etc. are described which is available in MyMoodle page. This course will be taught in English. However, you can choose either English or Swedish in your final written exam.

Technical equipment
You need a computer and a USB headset with built-in microphone to participate in digital meetings and presentations. Read more
