Project book (minimum A4 - some kind of sketchbook)

Pencil ( HB or softer your own choice. Avoid expensive pencil kits! You need a HB, the rest is for experimenting. I highly recomend technical pencils. 0,9 mm, 0,5 and a 0,3 mm. There you also have different grades of hardness and softness. try the 0,9 2B, 0,5 HB and the 0,3 softer than HB. I use a variety of pencils - cheap, found on the street, a couple of high end pens (which I don’t use that often because I am afraid to brake or lose them on an excursion). So cheap pens could easily become your favorite because you can modify it; add tape for grip make the tool yours!

Pens (markers, fine liners etc.)

Camera (if you have one in your smart phone then it is ok : ) - also smart phones can do as you now; sound recordings and moving images.
