Welcome to Linnaeus University 

You have applied and been accepted to the 2-year master’s programme in Sustainable Structural Engineering (TAKT2) at the Faculty of Technology at Linnaeus University. We are delighted to welcome you with this letter and provide some basic information.

Introduction

My name is Ambrose Dodoo, and I am the Programme Director for Sustainable Structural Engineering at Linnaeus University in Växjö. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me at ambrose.dodoo@lnu.se.

Today, structural engineers face significant challenges, and among them is creating a more sustainable built environment while realizing good structural designs and construction solutions. Structural engineers need to develop thorough understanding of the possibilities and limitations of different materials and also possess knowledge with respect to building elements and structural load bearing systems, to be professionally successful in the future. Within the framework of the program you are intellectually challenged by advanced theories of analysis, but also by more practical applications. You will be one of those who will be able to develop future principles for sustainable structural engineering.

The programme introduction meeting is on Tuesday 3rd September, 8.15 -10.30. If you for some reason are unable to attend this and course start meetings contact me as soon as possible. 


Information days for international students will be ~29-30 August. More precise information will be announced later. 

Programme syllabus and courses

The semester starts Tuesday 3 September with two courses:

Analysis of structures, 4BY067 with Prof. Anders Olsson as the course responsible.

Multivariable calculus and vector calculus, 1MA465 with Assoc. Prof.Patrik Wahlberg as the course responsible.

If you decide not to attend

If you decide not to attend this master programme in Sustainable Structural Engineering you have been offered a place in, please be sure to decline your offer. You can do this at www.universityadmissions.se.   Log in to your account, go to 'Applications' and follow the instructions. It's very important to decline your offer as soon as you know you will not be attending. This makes the place available for students on the waiting list.
