Here is some information about the Learning Agreement that you need to fill out before you go on exchange.

A Learning Agreement shows which courses you will take and how they will be credited when you return.

If you are going within Europe through Erasmus or Nordlys, you will fill out your Learning Agreement online in Mobility Online, a so-called DLA (Digital Learning Agreement), in the attached guide you will see how this is done. If you are going outside Europe, you will fill out your Learning Agreement by using the attached word template for bilateral exchange. Those of you who are going to Kosovo through Erasmus ICM fill out the Learning Agreement ICM template.

Before you start filling out your Learning Agreement, check with your program manager so that the courses you plan to take are OK and can be credited at LNU within your program, or in case you are going after your studies as independent courses. Some of you have a semester for exchange studies within your program where you can choose optional courses. These will then be credited as "Exchange studies 30 credits". In some programs you have less freedom of choice and then it is important that you check that the courses you are taking can replace those you would have taken at LNU, so that you do not have to take them afterwards. So check with the program manager before you start filling out your Learning Agreement and obtain course descriptions/syllabi from the foreign higher education institution so that your program manager can make an assessment. Once you have checked with the program manager, you fill in the courses you will take abroad (in Table A, “Study Programme at the Receiving Institution”) and how it will be credited at LNU (in the table “Recognition at sending institution”).

Once you have filled in your Learning Agreement, it must be approved and signed by the program manager and international coordinator at the Faculty of Engineering, i.e. by me (Katarina Rönndahl). Erasmus students who fill in the DLA sign this online and it is then automatically sent to the program manager and to me (if you have chosen the right contact persons). If you use the word template and sign on paper (or with a digital signature), make sure to get the signature from the program manager and send it as an email to me so that I can also sign. I will also send your Learning Agreement to the registrar so that it gets a journal number.

If you need to change courses to what is stated in your approved Learning Agreement, when you are on exchange or before, contact the program manager via email to get approval for the course change, and update your DLA. If you use the word template, you do not need to fill out a new LA, but you do need to save the email conversation you had with your program manager where it is clear that the course change was ok, which you then attach to your application for credit transfer when you return.

When you return after the exchange studies, you apply for credit transfer of the courses by sending the grades (Transcripts of Records) that you received from the exchange together with your Learning Agreement (and possible approval of the course changes from the program manager). Please send your application to registrator@lnu.se .

On Thursday the 15/5 between 15.15-16.30 you are welcome to an information meeting where we will go through the Learning Agreement and you can ask questions and meet others who are going on exchange. The meeting will be held in Växjö in the M-building in room M1052.

If you have questions or cannot attend the meeting and would like to book an individual meeting on Campus or via Zoom at another time, please get in touch.
