Last Thursday, the faculty board discussed and made a decision based on the proposal concerning a changed programme structure that has been communicated here before. Based on the proposal and a discussion with focus on high quality of the gathered programme selection, the board decided on changes for a number of programmes.
The decision will not result in any changes for you who already study on any of the affected programmes, only for those who apply to the school of business and economics. They will be recommended other programmes.
Cancelled programme
For the autumn term 2018, no students will be admitted to the programme international sales and marketing (EGISM) in Ljungby in order to make renewal work and development of the education quality possible.
Programmes that will be phased out
Business administration and economics programme, specialization in marketing (EGEMF) in Kalmar will be phased out and, therefore, not included in the national admission round for the autumn term 2018.
For the autumn term 2018, no students will be admitted to any 1-year master programme that has a 2-year master programme linked to it, in order to, among other things, reduce the complexity of the programme and course selection in line with the accreditation process.
These programmes are:
- Business process control and supply chain management (EABS1) in Växjö
- Entrepreneurship, master programme, 1-year (EAEP1) in Växjö
- Marketing, master programme, 1-year (EAMF1) in Växjö
- International business strategy (EAIS1) in Kalmar
- Tourism and sustainability (EATH1) in Kalmar
It is, however, pointed out that the linked 2-year master programmes should offer a way out after one year through an addition in the programme syllabi, that is to say, it will still be possible to obtain a 1-year master degree for the students who wish to do so after one year of studies. The board also commissioned the dean to ensure that there are suitable opportunities for exchange students for the autumn term 2018.
