Approved Leave from Studies

You can apply for an approved leave from studies. Application form

Our study counsellor reviews your application and a decision will be announced no later than four weeks after we receive it.

PS When applying for leave from studies, you need to support your application with documents that prove your claimed reasons for leave from studies. You have the right to return to your studies only if the programme in question is actually offered that semester. There is always the possibility that a programme will be changed or cancelled during the period of an approved leave from studies.

Deferment of Studies

You can apply for  a deferment. We hope this information will help you. You can find the form here.

Students admitted to programmes who are prevented to start their studies can, under specific circumstances, be granted a deferment of studies. Deferment of studies is usually only granted for a maximum of two semesters. To be granted a deferment of studies, the applicant must have special reasons. The circumstances leading to the application for a deferment of studies must have been unknown to and not foreseeable by the student by the time the application for the programme was made. They must also be beyond the influence of the applicant. Those circumstances are for instance a postponed leave of absence from a current employment, a call-up for military service, or illness.

Beyond personal information, the application for a deferment of studies shall also contain information about the programme the application refers to, and the reasons the application is based on. The applicant has to support his/her claims by attaching supporting documentation in form of certified copies (for instance Doctor’s certificate, call-up papers, etc.). A deferment cannot be granted for admissions from waiting lists.
