Thesis

By the end of the course, you are expected to submit a thesis 30-40 pages in length. The thesis is to be submitted by the end of the 8th week of the course. The examination seminar takes place on the final week of the course. Theses are assessed with the grades A-F.

Literature

The student, together with the supervisor, will select relevant literature based on the topic of the thesis (according to syllabus, some 2500 pages in total).

Supervision

A supervisor is intended to support your independent learning and research while conducting the thesis. The supervisor does not assign the student a research topic. However, the supervisor should consult on the choice of research question, theory and method, as well as provides constructive oral and written feedback on drafts of the thesis. The supervisor will also inform you as to the readiness of the thesis for examination, which is conducted by another faculty member (examiner).

The meetings with your supervisor are to be scheduled at your initiative between you and your supervisor. You will be expected to provide drafts of your work.

Please note that it can be difficult reserving supervisors with specific expertise, so be sure to approach potential supervisors as soon as possible.

Theis preparations

In order to ensure your thesis is completed in a timely manner, you are expected to start the course with a research topic and approach already established.
