3.7 Social Media, Internet and E-mail

Social Media and Internet

In addition to our education and research, we also have an obligation to interact with the outside world and inform about our activities. We report on these activities, via the university website or our presence on social media, where we present current research and our activities in general and this, in general, is still allowed. We are also permitted to publish images from our events where individuals cannot be identified or where the person shown has approved to this. These aspects do not differ from our website and social media. However, for those who intend to establish some form of processing of personal data, it is only permitted to do so using the services recommended by the university. One of the requirements for using another party to help process personal data, a processor, is that we have signed a special agreement with the party supplying the service stipulating what information is to be handled and how it should be done. Please note that even when using the recommended services, one is not allowed to collect and process more information than necessary, and the processing must still be carried out safely and in a transparent manner vis-à-vis the data subject.

E-mail

We handle a large amount of personal information by email, and we will continue to do so. However, there are some things to consider when using e-mail and it important to read the university’s e-mail policy as well as the guidelines on information and IT security.
