4.1.5 Archiving - regulations
Public documents are subject to
- Tryckfrihetsförordningen - the law regulating access to public documents and freedom of speech (1949: 105),
- Offentlighets- och sekretesslagen - the law that governs access to public documents (2009: 400),
- Arkivlagen - the Archives Act (1990: 782),
- Arkivförordningen - the Archives Ordinance (1991: 446)
and by the regulations of Riksarkivet (the National Archives).
Arkivförordningen governs the right of Riksarkivet to prescribe archiving in public authorities. The regulations are issued, inter alia, for materials and methods for document preparation, archive organization, archive accounting, archival protection, erasure and other disposal of documents. The regulations of Riksarkivet are issued in two different series, partly in the form of general regulations (RA-FS), and partly in regulations specific to public authorities (RA-MS).
If you have any questions regarding which documents are to be archived or not at the university, contact the archivists.
