This is based on an ongoing linked data project at the National History Museum and the National Gallery (Nationalmuseum). The data is open and the museums would very much like to see what kind of uses developers can make of it.
-
- What is a “digital exhibit”? What do different museums mean by that and what are they supposed to do? Do they work as intended?
- Hackathons are becoming a more common way of organising workshops to generate new ideas. How are they organised, what works/doesn’t work – how to create a successful hackathon?
- Digital strategies at museums. Some have started to formulate these formally – what do they include and how are they used?
- Climate foot print of digital solutions. Digital exhibits and conferences are often highlighted as a way of reducing our carbon footprint. But what about the energy resources needed for our technology, especially if it’s advanced tech? How do we make sure digital = green?
- NFT – non-fungible tokens. Some museums have jumped on this as a way to create revenue and interest. What are the ramifications both ethically and in terms of energy expenditure?
- How did the Swedish National Heritage Board handle the turn to more digital work methods during the pandemic – and how will this change the workplace going forward? What works/doesn’t work?
