Introduction
This is a course in IT security with a special emphasis on Internet security. The idea is to give a good coverage of threats against computers on a global network and the tools to thwart them.
The course covers:

- electronic mail security
- IP Security
- Web Security
- network management security
- intruders and hackers
- malicious software
- firewalls
Syllabus
Teaching
The course will have lectures and practical assignments. Lectures are given on campus in Växjö and streamed online. There will be tutoring on campus and online for the practical work each week.
Time for introduction of assignments and tutoring is not scheduled yet but will be soon. Some lectures will also be removed.

Examination
The course will be examined by a written and/or oral exam (campus and/or online) on the theoretical parts of the course and with reports covering the practical work. For students registered as distance students there will be an option to handle examination online. See more details in the grading criteria document.
