1TS161 International Sustainable Small-scale forestry
Welcome!
You have applied for and been accepted to the course International Sustainable Small-scale forestry (given a positive application response), at the Department for Forestry and Wood at Linnaeus University in Sweden. With this letter we warmly welcome you and give some information.
Preparatory meetings in Zoom
In order to be prepared for the digital classroom, we recommend that you participate in the at least one preparatory meeting in Zoom. We show the classroom in the learning platform MyMoodle (how to sign up for excursions, upload assignments, ask questions, find student colleagues) and pick up other questions about the course.
Excursions
The first excursion takes place close to Talsi September 15-16th. You send a response in MyMoodle so we will know how that come.
It is important to take part in the excursions since they introduce you to your homeworks. We cover many topics and everything might not get stuck during the two days, but you have time to continue at home. We will spend time outdoor, so clothes for all weathers are needed!
You can prepare yourself for the course by procuring
Height measure apps for mobile (cannot be used at examination)
Analogue height measurer Ludde, Suunto eller Silva (examinered)
Relascope
Caliper or tape for diameter measurement
Tape for distances 15-20 m
